The Junior DNS Engineer provides entry-level support for DNS infrastructure and day-to-day DNS operations in production environments.
This role is intended for early-career engineers who are building foundational networking and DNS expertise. You will assist with monitoring DNS health, performing basic troubleshooting, analyzing logs, maintaining documentation, and supporting senior engineers during incidents. Structured training and mentorship are provided to help you grow into more advanced DNS responsibilities.
- Monitor DNS systems and dashboards to ensure service health
- Perform basic DNS troubleshooting under guidance
- Analyze DNS logs to identify common issues and patterns
- Assist senior engineers during DNS-related incidents
- Support basic automation and validation tasks
- Follow change management and incident response procedures
- Enterprise DNS platforms
- Monitoring dashboards and alerting tools
- Log analysis tools
- Basic automation and scripting tools
- Basic understanding of DNS concepts (records, resolution, TTLs)
- Familiarity with Linux or Unix-based systems
- Ability to follow documented procedures and instructions
- Willingness to learn and accept technical mentorship
- Basic troubleshooting mindset and attention to detail
- Academic or self-taught background in networking or IT
- Exposure to monitoring or observability tools
- Basic scripting knowledge (Python or Bash)
- Experience using ticketing or issue-tracking systems
- Internship or entry-level experience in IT or infrastructure roles
- Learns and applies DNS fundamentals in real environments
- Escalates issues appropriately and on time
