Junior DNS Engineer

The Junior DNS Engineer supports day-to-day DNS operations in production environments under the guidance of senior engineers.

This role is designed for engineers who already understand DNS fundamentals and are ready to gain deeper, hands-on experience with enterprise DNS platforms, incident response, and operational tooling. You will assist with DNS configuration changes, monitoring, troubleshooting, and documentation while gradually taking on more responsibility within controlled scopes.

• Assist with DNS configuration updates and change validation
• Monitor DNS systems and respond to alerts and incidents under senior guidance
• Participate in DNS-related incident investigations and post-incident reviews
• Validate DNS changes to ensure accuracy, performance, and security
• Maintain and update operational documentation and runbooks
• Assist with automation tasks for DNS provisioning and validation
• Support monitoring and observability integrations for DNS platforms
• Work with ticketing systems to track requests, changes, and incidents

• Enterprise DNS platforms (BIND, Infoblox, cloud DNS services)
• Monitoring and alerting tools
• Basic scripting
• Ticketing and incident management systems

• 1–2 years of experience in networking, DNS, or infrastructure-related roles
• Solid understanding of DNS fundamentals (records, resolution flow, TTLs)
• Basic experience working with Linux systems
• Familiarity with ticketing systems and operational workflows
• Ability to follow change management and operational procedures
• Willingness to learn and take feedback from senior engineers

• Exposure to enterprise DNS platforms (BIND, Infoblox, or cloud DNS)
• Basic scripting knowledge (Python or Bash)
• Familiarity with monitoring or observability tools
• Exposure to production incident response environments
• Interest in automation and infrastructure tooling

• Executes assigned DNS tasks accurately with supervision
• Understands and follows operational and security procedures
• Can troubleshoot common DNS issues with guidance
• Actively builds technical depth in DNS and networking
• Demonstrates readiness to progress toward Mid DNS Engineer
