Must-Have Technical Competences:
- Understanding of QA Principles:
- Basic knowledge of quality assurance methodologies and the importance of the QA role in software development.
- Familiarity with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and the QA lifecycle.
- Test Planning and Design:
- Ability to understand requirements and specifications for the purpose of preparing test plans and test cases.
- Knowledge of test case design techniques to create effective test cases for both functional and non-functional testing.
- Test Execution and Management:
- Skills in executing test cases manually to verify application functionality against expected results.
- Ability to document test results, manage and track defects in a defect tracking system (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla), and retest fixed issues.
- Understanding of Various Testing Types:
- Knowledge of various types of testing (e.g., functional, regression, integration, system, usability, compatibility testing) and when to apply them.
- Basic Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and devices (PCs, mobile devices, tablets) to test software in different environments.
- Understanding of basic database concepts and the ability to execute simple SQL queries for data validation.
- Tools Proficiency:
- Basic proficiency with tools used in manual testing (e.g., Postman for API testing, browser developer tools for web testing).
- Agile Methodology:
- Familiarity with Agile development processes and the role of QA in Agile teams.
