We’re looking for someone passionate building tools that empower our hundreds of matchmakers find and build meaningful relationships for our clients. You’ll build features to help matchmakers search for potential matches, design curated dates, and communicate with their clients.
The company is transforming from a matchmaking company into a company that has a rigorous tested system that helps our clients maximize their chance of finding relationship success and fulfillment. In order to support this transformation, we are building a new platform that helps to shepherd our customers along their journey. This platform will focus on transparency around the customer journey, creating engagement with our customers along their journey, and creating features that maximize customers growth and learning. With this new platform, we aim to increase customer outcomes, increase customer satisfaction, decrease refunds, increase bookings for new service offerings, and increase customer trust as a partner.
Potential projects include:
- building a matchmaker search interface that utilizes data from machine to recommend matches based on their profile, past dates, and feedback
- a date designer tool that allows matchmakers to easily build a meaningful date based using past dates, user profiles, and the Google Places API
- building a graphQL layer on top of our API
Our tech stack: React, Next.js, Graphql, Mysql and perhaps PHP. This is a FE heavy role so the ratio of work FE & BE - 70/30
Responsibilities:
- Lead, design, and implement core workflow tools to empower our matchmakers and create intuitive interfaces
- Work directly with our in-office matchmakers for feedback and design
- Grow as a mentor of an ambitious, tight-knit engineering team
- Shape coding guidelines, best practices, and code quality
- Design component-based architecture that will allow the team to scale quickly and efficiently
- Drive and prioritize feature development for specific areas of product ownership
- Learn from a seasoned executive team that has built and sold businesses previously
Requirements:
- 2+ years in developing web services and/or mobile apps
- Ability to quickly understand technical and business requirements and be able to translate into technical design and implementation
- B.S. in Computer Science or other engineering fields
- Experienced in shipping high quality, high performance software at scale
- Passionate about building usable, intuitive user experiences that delight
- Proficient coding using React, Javascript, HTML, CSS
- Proficiency in PHP, Python, Ruby on Rails, Java, C#, C++/C, and/or equivalent
- Proficient with designing schema and queries for MySQL, PostgreSQL, and/or equivalent
- Familiar with modern front-end/back-end design paradigms
- Belief in always trying to be better and making everyone around you better
