Role Overview
The Mid Observability Engineer implements and operates monitoring and visibility solutions for large-scale infrastructure, applications, and network environments across multiple client projects.
This role focuses on hands-on observability implementation: instrumenting services, building dashboards, defining alerts, improving data quality, and supporting incident investigations. You will work closely with platform, SRE, and operations teams to ensure observability standards are consistently applied and operational visibility is reliable and actionable.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement observability solutions for infrastructure, applications, and services
- Instrument services using OpenTelemetry for metrics, logs, and traces
- Build and maintain dashboards for system health, performance, and reliability
- Define and tune alerts to reduce noise and improve signal quality
- Improve observability data quality, consistency, and coverage
- Support incident investigations by analyzing logs, metrics, and traces
- Collaborate with platform and operations teams on observability standards
- Follow established best practices for monitoring, alerting, and documentation
- Participate in on-call support and post-incident reviews

- Metrics & Dashboards: Prometheus, Grafana
- Logging & Tracing: Loki, Tempo, Elastic Stack

- Platforms: Linux, containers (Docker), Kubernetes
- Cloud Monitoring: AWS, GCP, or Azure native monitoring services
- Data Stores: Time-series databases
Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in observability, monitoring, or platform engineering roles
- Hands-on experience with Prometheus and Grafana
- Experience instrumenting services with OpenTelemetry
- Solid understanding of Linux systems and basic networking concepts
- Experience working with containers and containerized workloads
- Ability to analyze logs, metrics, and traces for troubleshooting
- Basic scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar)
- Experience with Elastic Stack, Loki, or Tempo
- Experience with Kubernetes observability
- Exposure to SRE or on-call operational environments
- Experience supporting enterprise or high-traffic systems

- Actively improves personal technical depth in observability tooling
