Job purpose:

E2E Accountability and Responsibility for the successful availability of the IT Infrastructure – Servers and VMs, preferably in Telco environments

Day to day monitoring of HW, OS and VM. Drive analysis and resolution of any fault. Coordinate with 3PP for the resolution of faults. Monitor backup status every day, troubleshoot any failure, escalate and coordinate with vendor for resolution, period testing of restoration.

Ensure Successful cross collaboration across team and services reporting.

Duties and responsibilities:

Assessment of the IT infrastructure also having ability to guide the teams.

Operator’s possess (ITIL, eTOM) knowledge and hands on experience on providing solutions to Web and Application Servers: Apache / Nginx / Http running on LINUX OS

Provide the optimum solution in Server, Storage, Networking and Middle ware services

Good knowledge of OS Internals and understanding of the implementation life cycle.

Prepare, maintain Documentation, Reports & provide follow up status on identified tasks

Work as a team member, providing support to colleagues as and when required.

Perform periodic review of the UNIX IT policies and standards to ensure that the IT infrastructure is aligned to technology standards.

Skills:

Virtualization: VMware ESXi/KVM/Xen.

Experience with Ruby, Python and SCM frameworks like Chef/Puppet/Fabric is desirable.

Experience with: administering a pool of Linux servers, Virtualization, SAN/NAS, SQL, Load balancing, application monitoring/backup technologies, web/database server administration is desirable.

Extensive knowledge of UNIX processes, ability to build a process from the scratch and implement across organization. Optimize security process with the help of new technology.

Good knowledge of UNIX tools such as TCP/IP netstat, iostat, DNS, SMTP, SNMP, HTTP and IT Incident & Event Management

Perform periodic review of the UNIX IT policies and standards to ensure that the IT infrastructure is aligned to technology standards.

Scripting language experience is preferred.
