Lead QA Engineer

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Lead QA Automation Engineer who will take ownership of the quality strategy for our AI-powered platform and lead a growing QA team. This role combines technical hands-on work with team leadership, process development, and strategic decision-making.

• Lead and mentor a distributed QA team, supporting professional growth, performance, and effective collaboration.
• Build and scale QA processes, ensuring consistency, transparency, and high delivery quality.
• Drive recruitment, onboarding, and development of new QA team members.
• Set quality standards, define testing strategies, and control execution of the test plan across all stages of development.
• Oversee testing of AI/LLM-based client-server applications, ensuring functional, performance, and reliability coverage.
• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Python-based automated test frameworks (UI, API, backend).
• Ensure deep automation coverage across infrastructure, integrations, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Conduct manual testing for complex or high-risk features when needed.
• Work closely with product managers, developers, and DevOps engineers to align priorities and streamline release processes.
• Drive quality-first culture through clear communication, transparency, and proactive problem-solving.
• Prepare and maintain test documentation, automation strategies, reports, and QA metrics for stakeholders.

• 6+ years of experience in QA, including 2+ years in a lead role with proven team management responsibilities.
• Strong expertise in Python-based test automation (Playwright, Selenium, Requests, PyTest).
• Experience building or scaling CI/CD automation flows (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.).
• Solid understanding of client-server architecture, API testing, and web applications.
• Comfortable working with distributed teams in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Proficiency in QA process creation, team mentoring, and cross-team communication.
• Excellent documentation skills and ability to structure testing strategies from scratch.
• Languages: English B2–C1, Russian B2.
• Location: any, except Russia and Belarus.

• Experience testing LLM-based or AI-powered products.
• Knowledge of FastAPI, TypeScript, React (part of our tech stack).
• Experience with cloud tools, monitoring, or performance testing.
