Design careers in Kyrgyzstan

Design work can involve interfaces, visual communication, animation and other creative responsibilities. When choosing a vacancy, look at the product or materials you would create rather than relying on the job title alone.

UX/UI and product design

UX/UI roles involve understanding user needs, organising interfaces and developing visual solutions. One company may emphasise research and prototyping, while another needs a designer to improve an existing product.

Check whether the role includes research, design-system work and handoff to developers. Familiarity with Figma or another tool may be required, but understanding the product and the team’s expectations is equally important when assessing the position.

Graphic design and brand identity

Graphic design roles may involve advertising materials, presentations, social media graphics, print assets and brand identity. Not every vacancy combines all these responsibilities.

Find out whether the employer expects you to adapt materials within established brand guidelines or develop new visual concepts. Requirements for print preparation, typography and digital formats also vary between roles.

Motion design, animation and 3D

Motion designers communicate ideas through movement and visual storytelling. Responsibilities may include animated graphics, product videos, title sequences and other video elements.

Motion design, video editing and 3D are related but distinct disciplines. Read which responsibilities are combined in the vacancy and which tools are needed. A reference to After Effects, Blender or another application does not describe the entire scope of the job.

Portfolios and choosing an opportunity

Select portfolio work that relates to the vacancy. In a UX/UI case study, explain the original problem, your decisions and your contribution. For graphic design, show how the materials are used and how the visual identity remains consistent. A motion design reel benefits from a clear explanation of what you contributed to each project.

When comparing roles in Bishkek, other locations or remote teams, look at working hours, collaboration and the review process. Where a salary is listed, check the currency, pay period and how the responsibilities relate to compensation.
