What to do if your publication is rejected
Rejected means your content is not allowed to appear on DevKG. The decision may come from an automatic check or a moderator. If you think it is wrong, you can ask a person to review it.
1. Open the rejection screen
Find the content in your list: My vacancies, My articles or My events. Select its Rejected status.
A rejection notification is also sent. Where you receive it depends on your notification settings. If you have not seen one, check the status in your list.
On the left, the vacancy "Office accountant" with a red Rejected status and a menu: Edit, Create a copy, Delete. On the right, the refusal screen: Taken down, a moderator took the vacancy down, a note, and two buttons — My vacancies and Write to us about it.
The example shows a moderator’s takedown. Your screen may differ:
| What you see | What happened | Contact button |
|---|---|---|
| Not published, with an automatic check mentioned | The content did not pass the automatic check and was not published | Ask a person to look |
| Taken down | A moderator removed the content | Write to us about it |
| Not published, without naming who checked it | The content is not on the site; the screen does not identify who decided | Write to us about it |
My vacancies, My articles or My events takes you back to your list.
2. Check your content
Read the moderation rules and compare them with your publication. Check the text, contacts, links and company details, if provided.
The rejection screen does not show the exact rule that triggered the decision. Do not try to infer the reason from the status colour. Ask for a review if you do not understand the decision.
If editing is available in the menu, make the changes and note what you changed. If you cannot edit it, describe your proposed changes in the request.
3. Ask for a review
- On the rejection screen, choose Ask a person to look or Write to us about it.
- A support form opens with the content linked to it. You do not need to find it again.
- Explain what you disagree with or what you corrected. Include facts that help check the content.
- Send the request. Read the reply in My tickets.
For example:
Hello! Please review the decision on this publication. I believe it is incorrect because [specific fact]. I corrected [changes, if any]. Supporting information: [link or explanation].
If the button does not work, create a new request and include the content link, title and type: vacancy, article or event.
4. Wait for a reply
A staff member will consider your request. Returning content to review does not mean it is published: wait for the new decision. If the rejection stands, read the answer in the same ticket.
Keep the content while you want a review: staff need to see what you are asking them to check. Add follow-up questions to the same request. See Contacting support.
Can I make a copy or delete the content?
Create a copy, when available, creates a new draft. It goes through its own check and does not overturn the original rejection. Do not create identical copies instead of requesting a review.
If you no longer need the content, use Delete when available in the menu. Deleting content does not itself request a refund.
If you already paid
Mention the payment in your request: date, amount and invoice or payment number, if available. Refund eligibility depends on which services were delivered and the applicable terms. Rejection before publication and removal after publication are different situations.
See How to request a refund. Do not pay again just to have a rejection reconsidered.
