How to set up or turn off notifications

DevKG tells you about activity relevant to you, such as a company invitation or a response to something you did. Choose which notifications to receive and where to read them. These settings apply to this site; other network sites have their own choices.

Open notification settings

  1. Sign in.
  2. Open Profile → Settings → Notifications, or go directly to notification settings.

This is an example of the table. It is an illustration; use the actual settings page to change switches.

At the top is the master switch "Receive notifications". Below is a table: notification types in rows, channels in columns — on the site, email, Telegram. For example, a new application is on everywhere, an event reminder is off for email, and replies to comments arrive only on the site, with a dash in the other columns.

The notification settings: a row is what about, a column is where
  • A row says what the message is about.
  • A column says where it goes: On site, Email or Telegram.
  • The switch where they meet controls that message in that channel.

For example, keep event reminders in Telegram and turn them off by email. Changes save immediately; there is no separate Save button.

Turn off unwanted messages

All configurable notifications: turn off Receive notifications above the table. Turn it on again to resume. Your individual row choices are preserved. Support and document exceptions are explained below.

One channel: turn off the switch in its column heading. Turning off Email stops configurable emails and leaves other channels unchanged. Turning the column back on enables every eligible row, rather than restoring your previous selection.

One message type: find its row and turn off the switch in the relevant column.

Where messages can arrive

On the site. Read them in My notifications. No email or Telegram connection is needed, but configurable messages can still be turned off.

By email. You need a verified address, and the site must have email delivery configured. The Email section below the table shows the receiving address or explains why the channel is unavailable.

In Telegram. Connect this site's notification bot. Signing in with Telegram does not by itself connect notifications.

Connect Telegram

  1. Find the Telegram section below the notification table.
  2. Choose Connect Telegram, if available.
  3. In the bot that opens, select Start and follow its instructions.
  4. Return to the site. It will check the connection; refresh if the column is still unavailable.
  5. Check that Receive notifications and the required Telegram rows are on.

The notification bot is different from the sign-in bot. Do not block it if you want to receive messages.

Why email or Telegram is unavailable

If the whole table is dimmed, turn on Receive notifications first. If only one channel is unavailable, read the explanation below the table.

ReasonWhat to do
Your account has no emailChoose Add email address and verify it with a code
Your email is not verifiedChoose Verify address and enter the email code
This site does not send emails yetUse an available channel. The site needs to configure delivery
The Telegram bot is not connectedChoose Connect Telegram and select Start in the bot
This site has no Telegram bot yetUse on-site notifications or available email

After connecting a channel, check its switches: connecting does not undo your muted choices.

Messages these settings do not turn off

There are no switches for:

  • support replies and follow-up messages asking whether your request is resolved;
  • payment confirmation, invoices and credit notes, which record a reduction in an invoice amount.

The main switch and Email column do not mute these messages. External delivery still needs an available channel and successful delivery. A missing document or reply is a delivery issue to check, not a hidden switch to find.

Read your notifications

Use the bell if it is shown, or open Profile → Settings → My notifications. You can also open the list directly.

Unread messages are highlighted. Mark all as read clears unread marks; it does not turn off future notifications.

Missing emails or Telegram messages

ProblemWhat to check
An email is missingSpam, the address below the table, email verification, the main switch and the specific Email row
A Telegram message is missingWhether this site's bot is connected and unblocked, and whether the main switch and required row are on

A switch moved backSaving failed. Check your connection and try again
A loading error appears instead of the tableRefresh. Do not assume settings changed before they have loaded

If the problem continues, contact support. Say which message you expected, approximately when and through which channel. Do not send passwords or email codes.

See Profile and settings for other account sections.
